By Brian Weis
(LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga.) - McLemore, the acclaimed golf club and resort destination perched atop Lookout Mountain, announces a collaboration with recently opened and already famed United Kingdom hospitality properties, Seaton House of St. Andrews, Scotland and Dunluce Lodge of Portrush, Northern Ireland, to offer uniquely connected luxury golf and dining experiences to guests around the world.
United as part of the global Valor Hospitality Partners family, the three properties form an international relationship that connects through the universal language of golf, travel, and dining. As part of this collective, the culinary experiences at these properties are curated by SAVOR, the award-winning food and beverage division of Valor Hospitality, which allows for cross-continental collaboration and sharing of ideas, cultures and unique customer experiences.
Through one-of-a-kind packages and tailored joint itineraries, McLemore, Seaton House and Dunluce Lodge invite guests to join them for a global travel experience bound together under the shared identity of world-class golf, five-star dining, spa & wellness, and elegant accommodations.
Dating back to 1864, Seaton House property overlooks the first tee of the Old Course at St. Andrews and the magnificent West Sands beach, has borne witness to over 160 years of golf history taking place just outside its door. Previously known as the Scores Hotel, the historic landmark was restored by Links Collection & Valor Hospitality Partners, returning the building to its prominent standing in the "Home of Golf". The hotel features 42 luxury bedrooms, including six suites and three junior suites, offering five-star luxury hospitality in the heart of St. Andrews, just a five-minute walk from the town's many historic attractions, artisan shops, cafes and fine dining experiences. Additionally, Seaton House features three distinct dining and bar options, spearheaded by Ondine Oyster & Grill, one of Scotland's most famous seafood restaurants.
Overlooking the fourth fairway of the renowned Royal Portrush Golf Club, host of two previous Open Championships and the site of the 153rd edition of the hallowed championship, Dunluce Lodge is a new property with roots in the storied history of Northern Ireland's Causeway Coast. Dunluce Lodge boasts 35 luxury suites, including eight in The Stookan, its private home for larger groups, together with an intimate world-class restaurant offering à la carte dining and tasting menus, also served in its wine vault with expert wine pairings and exquisite whiskey tastings. Guests can also avail of an intimate spa and private dining spaces throughout the Lodge.
With an onsite putting green and complimentary private transfers to the nearby helipad and to the clubhouses at Royal Portrush and Portstewart Golf Club, Dunluce Lodge is also a golfer's paradise, and open in time to welcome guests attending the 153rd Open Championship in July.
"McLemore was founded with an identity deeply intertwined with Scottish heritage," says Euan McGlashan, Global Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Valor Hospitality Partners. "So, we are thrilled to join three like-minded and quintessential 'Celtic' destinations in a partnership grounded in reverence for our shared history and an appreciation for the game of golf as it was meant to be played."
One of the top golf destinations in the South, McLemore boasts a pair of 18-hole championship courses as well as a six-hole short course called The Cairn. The resort first established itself with the Highlands Course. Famous for jaw-dropping elevation changes, the Highlands Course boasts one of the most spectacular finishing holes in the game, as the 18th runs along the cliff edge from tee to green. Ranked the 22nd best hole in America by Golf Digest and a top-10 finishing hole in the world according to LINKS Magazine, the final hole on the Highlands Course is truly one of a kind.
In late 2024, McLemore unveiled The Keep as the centerpiece around which the resort's future as a must-visit golf destination is built. Sculpted by Bill Bergin and Rees Jones on a rare piece of land atop Lookout Mountain, the 'mountaintop headlands course' features five cliffside holes overlooking McLemore Cove that present golfers with breathtaking vantage points at every turn.
In February 2024, McLemore introduced Cloudland - a marquee Curio Collection by Hilton hotel perched atop Lookout Mountain with stellar views of the surrounding North Georgia mountains. Considered the Southeast's most anticipated hotel opening, the luxury resort property offers 245 guest rooms, including 21 suites and 20,000 square feet of state-of-the-art indoor meeting and event space.
At Cloudland, guests can enjoy a range of amenities, including four superb restaurants and bars. One in particular - Auld Alliance - named after the oldest alliance in the world between Scotland and France which dates back to 1295, is the only restaurant in the United States combining the rich flavors of Scotch and French cuisine. Cloudland also features a cliff-edge infinity pool and bar as well as a full-service spa. Guests of Cloudland also have access to the pair of world-class golf courses at McLemore, along with endless opportunities to explore Lookout Mountain and the surrounding area.

About: Brian Weis
Brian Weis is the mastermind behind GolfTrips.com, a vast network of golf travel and directory sites covering everything from the rolling fairways of Wisconsin to the sunbaked desert layouts of Arizona. If there’s a golf destination worth visiting, chances are, Brian has written about it, played it, or at the very least, found a way to justify a "business trip" there.
As a card-carrying member of the Golf Writers Association of America (GWAA), International Network of Golf (ING), Golf Travel Writers of America (GTWA), International Golf Travel Writers Association (IGTWA), and The Society of Hickory Golfers (SoHG), Brian has the credentials to prove that talking about golf is his full-time job. In 2016, his peers even handed him The Shaheen Cup, a prestigious award in golf travel writing—essentially the Masters green jacket for guys who don’t hit the range but still know where the best 19th holes are.
Brian’s love for golf goes way back. As a kid, he competed in junior and high school golf, only to realize that his dreams of a college golf scholarship had about the same odds as a 30-handicap making a hole-in-one. Instead, he took the more practical route—working on the West Bend Country Club grounds crew to fund his University of Wisconsin education. Little did he know that mowing greens and fixing divots would one day lead to a career writing about the best courses on the planet.
In 2004, Brian turned his golf passion into a business, launching GolfWisconsin.com. Three years later, he expanded his vision, and GolfTrips.com was born—a one-stop shop for golf travel junkies looking for their next tee time. Today, his empire spans all 50 states, and 20+ international destinations.
On the course, Brian is a weekend warrior who oscillates between a 5 and 9 handicap, depending on how much he's been traveling (or how generous he’s feeling with his scorecard). His signature move" A high, soft fade that his playing partners affectionately (or not-so-affectionately) call "The Weis Slice." But when he catches one clean, his 300+ yard drives remind everyone that while he may write about golf for a living, he can still send a ball into the next zip code with the best of them.
Whether he’s hunting down the best public courses, digging up hidden gems, or simply outdriving his buddies, Brian Weis is living proof that golf is more than a game—it’s a way of life.
